There Is More than One Way To Be Jewish
Kehilat Birkat Shalom at Kibbutz Gezer is a member congregation of the Reform Movement in Israel, located between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. The kehila serves the residents of the Gezer region and surroundings who are interested in a warm, open and egalitarian Jewish community, where families sit together and women participate fully. All are welcome to take part in Shabbat and holiday celebrations, life-cycle events, social justice projects, and to be part of a caring, supportive community. Together we demonstrate the legitimacy of progressive Judaism in Israel.
Birkat Shalom invites visitors from around the world to join us. Our special Friday night Kabbalat Shabbat prayer book is written in Hebrew and English, and we use the gender-sensitive Gates of Prayer for overseas bar and mitzva ceremonies.
